ITALO TONDO

THE CURVE THAT REDEFINES THE WALK-IN

The walk-in has always been synonymous with essentiality: no doors, no hinges, just glass and space. Italo Tondo takes this minimal language and enriches it with a single formal gesture, the curve. A single panel with a rounded upper profile that transforms the shower wall into a sculptural element, capable of dialoguing with the architecture.

Presented at CERSAIE 2025, Italo Tondo is born from the evolution of the TDA Italo family, bringing to the world of the shower a design sensibility that looks at design as an expressive language as well as a functional one.

Contemporary design has stopped looking for the edge and begun looking for the curve. Not as ornament, but as posture. A way of inhabiting space that promotes wellbeing, lightens visual tension, and transforms every environment into something closer to an embrace than a box.

A single glass panel, a single curved gesture. No interruption, no corner where the eye comes to a halt. The profile closes upon itself with the same naturalness with which the bathroom was once merely a functional space, and is today instead a place one chooses to be. Access is free, the reading of the space is immediate, and what remains is not an enclosure but a sculptural presence: a wall that defines.

At a moment when furnishing tends towards generous proportions, surfaces that are felt as well as seen, and environments that cease to be rigid in order to become sensorial, Italo Tondo arrives in the bathroom with the same coherence with which a soft armchair arrives in the living room. Not to astonish, but to build an atmosphere. Not to occupy space, but to change its quality.

For those who design, it is a rare instrument: it has the care of a technical solution and the character of an authored object. It allows a compositional flair that is rarely achieved with other elements, because the curve, continuous and uninterrupted, transforms the shower wall into something that is not forgotten. A sculpture that works. A gesture that endures.

The bathroom, with Italo Tondo, acquires a different quality: the kind that is perceived the moment one enters the space, that convinces you that you could never do without it again.
